I landed here but... What is this?
Hewle is a huge guide collector project. This means it groups lots and lots of guides, howtos, suggestions to help you get things done.
As in many others projects you can easily find over the Web, Hewle features a easy-to-use interface and a nice style to make the time you'll spend online. But what makes this site great is the possibility for everybody to edit existing articles and add anyone's personal experience. This is what boosts Hewle and is at its basis: users collaboration.
Articles
Articles you can find online are divided in some groups, to make the identification of what the user is looking for easier.
The body of each article is actually a (hopefully) well-written tutorial, that guides the user through the complete set up or accomplishment of the task treated. Also, some additional resource may be added, such as links to important pages or screenshots, further explanations, etc.
A 'strange' story
Users may find something missing or typos or other kind of mistakes in our pages (well everybody can make errors, right?) but here comes the difference from other websites tutorials: the user may edit the page and correct the errors in it.
In this way the next user will find a full working tutorial, with no errors and better explained. That "next user" could be you. And you can submit new articles and tutorials to make another user happy with his new hardware configuration; so happy, that he'll adjust the guide he referred to and create a new page for fixing some bug. The bug you had.
Share opinions and idea
Since Hewle's bases on user collaboration, users have the power to change the site, too!
This is not an immediate process as editing a page: some programmer is necessary!
But if you have good ideas about the improvment of the site, don't wait a second more and post it in our forums. Someone will answer you as soon as possible.
Help!
Forums are the best place to meet other users, discuss and... get help! However, before post a disperate message, have a look at the FAQs: in the majority of cases, someone else's got your problem/double.
So, what are you waiting for? Go and find the solution to your problem. But don't forget to collaborate!
